Why this Charity ?

The Carlton and Harrold Touch Rugby Club are planning a tour of local hostelries in fancy dress by bike on 26th June. We would like to take this opportunity to raise money for the Neurofibromatosis Association.
Our interest in this particular charity is because a young girl from the village of Harrold has sadly, been diagnosed with this uncurable condition.

There is also a much larger event supporting the same cause planned. If you are in the area please visit Harrold playing fields on 3rd July for a family fun day to help raise funds.

The Neurofibromatosis Association Charity No: 1078790

Dear Sir / Madam

Our 11 year old daughter, Savannah, has an illness called Neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2).  The illness causes tumours to grow on nerves which leave the patient with various health complications. Savannah has schwannomas, which the tumours are medically called, in her brain and on her spine – there is no cure for this condition.

Our mission is to raise funds for research into finding a cure for NF2 and to help people understand more about the illness and the effect it has on both patient and family.

On 3rd July 2010 we are planning a Family Fun Afternoon at Harrold Cricket Pavilion, Harrold, Bedfordshire.  Your help with the event would go a long way in to making it successful.  We would greatly appreciate a donation towards our grand raffle be this vouchers, food hamper, electrical goods, in fact any item we could include in the raffle. Alternatively if you would like to make a donation that we can add to our total amount raised, it would help us to make a difference.

The Fun afternoon will include numerous activities, bouncy castle, tombola, children’s games, cake stall, cream teas and much more.  Leaflets will be available explaining NF2 and how people can get involved in future fundraising.  All proceeds from the day will go to the NF2 organisation to help towards research.

Thank you for considering our request.  If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me.

Kind Regards

Amanda Hobbs
